In 2017, an amateur Portuguese sculptor named Emanuel Santos somehow got the commission to make a bust of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo that would be showcased at the Madeira Airport, in Ronaldo’s hometown.

Santos was thrilled about the opportunity. But his creation was universally panned and sparked an international viral fiasco that rocked his soul. The Ronaldo-over is about his attempt to create a worthy replacement and, in the process, redeem himself.
