For a small Irish club like Limerick FC — Club Peile Luimnigh in Irish — a European Cup tie against the likes of Real Madrid kings is the stuff of legend.

And film.

Last week, the short film Sit Down and Shut Up premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh 2021. Directed by award winning filmmaker Cian O'Connor, the film tells the story of the two-legged series in 1980, when Limerick FC took on los Merengues and did themselves and their club proud.

We’ll work on getting the film available for US audience — maybe for the NY festival — but in the meantime, here’s the trailer:
